can someone please explain to me the fucking point of this

To get fur, maybe make some taxidermy, perhaps eat the meat and sell the other various parts of the carcass so that this person can pay for clothes, shelter and food.

What’s the point of your stupid comment?

hey, i dunno, if you were aware of this, but there are ways of acquiring food, clothes, and shelter that don’t involve murder! funny lil ol’ world, isn’t it?

It’s not murder, murder is a human term. This is an animal, an animal that has killed many other animals and was just killed by another animal. Applying the term murder to a death caused by a human and preventing someone from participating in the natural cycle because the it is cruel and we can distinguish the difference because we are ‘moral’ and therefore better than animals disassociates us from animals, which is the main problem in animal abuse and the general lack of knowledge when it comes to wildlife and nature

Also, there is no way of obtaining food, clothes and shelter without the loss of life. I’m going to assume you’re vegetarian/vegan? If so, the farming of plants that would sustain a human life, quinoa, soy, rice, fruits, etc, etc, all need a huge amount of land to be grown. This land needs of be cleared of it’s natural habitat. Deer fawns among other animals often get killed in this process and other animals that do escape are forced into the territories of other species which are either displaced themselves or killed by the intruders.

Not to mention all the chemicals humans use to grow these crops in quantities needed to sustain human life without eating animals. Pesticides and herbicides used to protect crops make their way into the ecosystem via water sources where they accumulate in the top predators of the food chain and can have serious effects on them, even killing them. I trust you have a basic understanding of how ecosystems work, so when the top predators start dying, the ecosystem becomes undone and prey animals begin breeding at unregulated rates. Not to mention the thousands of coral and amphibians which are even more sensitive to these harsh chemicals and have become endangered as a result.

Farming not only requires the clearing of land, but the protection of it. Many species have become extinct or close to it due to this. The black-footed ferret for example came close to extinction due to the decline of its main prey, prairie dogs, that were also in decline due to the conversion of the prairies into farmland.

I could go on, but I hope this has been enough to prove my point. When one bear dies, that is one life being lost and that is nature. When you buy farmed food or make shelter out of logged trees or buy clothes made of materials that were picked and brought together by some poor kid in a third world country who is barely paid anything, many, many more animals die that you don’t even know about

Not to mention the millions of animals, including deer, rodents, raccoons, foxes, coyotes, rabbits, hares, crows, pigeons and countless other species that are shot, trapped, gassed and poisoned to protect crops.

Just because you can’t see the animals that died for you doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Everyone has blood on their hands.
